In the Iliad, the poet homer states The Trojan War began when prince Paris abducted Helen, wife of Menelaus and queen of Sparta.
When Menelaus demanded Helen's return, the Trojans refused.
Menelaus then persuaded his brother, king Agamemnon, to lead an army against Troy. Hungry for control over the Agean, Agamemnon agreed.
But there are many characters left out of this legendary tale.
